SCOTTSDALE, ARIZ, June 19, 2012—Discover the World Marketing officially opened an office in Turkey this month to handle sales and marketing for its clients.

“We had an on-going demand to open an office in Turkey but waited until we found the right partner to head our operation in this country,” said Rob Pope, Discover the World Marketing’s senior vice president corporate development. “With the appointment of Ali Tümay, we have found that individual. He will enable us to expand the reach of our clients such as Caesars Entertainment Las Vegas, Hyatt Hotels Corporation, the IATA IBCS product and our bigblueroad.com e-commerce division. We’ll be adding existing Discover clients throughout the remainder of this year and offering potential clients an exciting addition to the Discover network portfolio. The ongoing economic growth of Turkey only points to greater opportunities for our new office.”

Ali Tümay, who is the new Director for Discover the World Marketing in Turkey, has nearly 21 years of airline experience in the country. In his career, Tümay has handled sales and marketing for Alitalia, DHL Worldwide Express and British Airways. Since 2004, he has served as the Country Manager for Turkey and Central Asia for Alitalia. He is secretary-treasurer of the Board of Airline Representatives in Turkey and a board member for the Italian Chamber of Commerce.
